Hangouts in 2015

Our video hangouts have a long history. In the past 20 years Planeta.com has engaged in an active dialogue with leaders developing sustainable practices around the world. Today we continue face-to-face and virtual meetings focusing on conscious travel, responsible travel and ecotourism. Since our debut as a gopher site in 1994 Planeta has been an active hub connecting locals and visitors keen on culture and conservation, foreign language and foreign food, international sport and literature.

This page documents the video hangouts in 2015. This page includes the videos, summaries, shownotes and timestamps. While 2015 may have come and gone, this wiki page remains a work-in-progress.

If you're new to the hangouts, start here and for viewers, participants and hosts alike, check out the google hangouts tips

Commentary by Ron
Now that I have returned to the USA, I see the same old challenges here that I've seen abroad. There is a lack of communication and collaboration and I'd argue innovation in the descriptions of travel and tourism options.

That said, if you listen and look carefully, there are numerous options of responsible local travel. One of my personal goals in May is to create a list of 100 businesses, museums, restaurants and hotels that are at the very least likeable on Facebook.
