Earth Day celebrations take place around the world between March 21 and April 22 with most events happening around April 20-22.

"We recommend celebrating Earth Day every day of the year," said Planeta.com founder Ron Mader.

The morning and afternoon interactive sessions linked to a specific theme will run as parallel strands linked, and may follow a more “standard” workshop-style. Activities proposed for these sessions should last between 45 minutes and 2 hours. The evening session is a more fluid space to showcase ideas, achievements and creativity, and activities proposed for this session may be any length up to (but not exceeding) the timeslot for that session.
We particularly welcome new and innovative ways to communicate conservation success and inspire our delegates, and welcome submissions which incorporate art, music, film and new technologies.

Earth Day celebrations take place in March and April. Two celebrations are better than one!

MARCH 21 - The United Nations marks Earth Day each year on the vernal equinox (March 21). This Earth Day was founded by John McConnell, a newspaper publisher and the designer of the Earth Flag.

APRIL 22 - U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson introduced the idea to then President John F Kennedy in the early 1960s and has officially celebrated since 1972. Earth Day has proved extremely popular in the United States and around the world.
